You may have noticed the little kitty silhouette on the pages of this web site. Here's a slightly larger version of it -

Although it may be hard to tell, this image is actually a digital photograph, not a graphic (except for the blue background I used to help it display more clearly).

The photograph was taken by me, and I look at the circumstances surrounding it as a true miracle.  Here's the story....

In early October 2004, I went to the closet to get a pair of shoes. I decided to wear a pair of loafers that I hadn't worn for 2-3 days. When I looked down at them, I saw a little white fuzzy thing with an odd shape. I picked up the shoe and looked more closely at what was inside. Here is what I saw:

Okay, I know that looking at a picture of my shoe is not exactly the highlight of your day, but I promise you that is precisely what I saw - a little piece of lint formed in the shape of a cat. Of course I started to cry with the wonder of it, and then I started to smile.

I'm still smiling today.  Is this amazing or what?

How this little piece of lint came to be formed in the silhouette of a cat, how it ended up in my shoe, well, I don't have answers to these questions.  And I'm just fine with that.
